Project Title: Powder and Comparison to Inconel® 625 Powder

Project Description

A new product introduction created at Wall Colmonoy named Colmonoy EXP1667-P3 powder an alternative material to Inconel 686. This was due an existing customer requesting for a material that is currently unavailable in powder form. Customer A currently applies Inconel 625 powder, which is a Nickel based Chromium, Molybdenum & Niobium alloy to boiler tubes and superheaters via laser cladding for the waste to energy sector. Customer A requested the material as they believe that Inconel 686 alloy is a superior material for high corrosive environments when compared to Inconel 625. Inconel 686 alloy is a Nickel alloy containing 21% Chromium, 16% Molybdenum and 3.7% Tungsten. The customer reported a potential demand of 100,000Kg of powder per annum for this application.
